Program Overview
Menomonee Valley Partners is proud to celebrate the success of a recently closed a pilot program that provided Valley employees with access to free rideshare services. Over the course of one year, the Last Mile Pilot Program provided an average of 600 free rides for Valley employees travelling to and from work each month!
Initiated to address workforce transportation challenges identified by Menomonee Valley employers as a priority for attracting and securing adequate labor, the year-long program began in March 2024 and closed in March 2025. The program supported a Valley employees in addressing a variety of commute challenges including help due to a carpool falling through, vehicle maintenance, missed transit connections, unexpected overtime, emergencies, and more.
Information on workforce transportation challenges is documented in Improving Job Access in the Menomonee Valley, a report prepared in partnership with MetroGO! (now MobilISE), the Southeastern Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission, and others.
Program Funding
Last Mile Pilot Program funding was made possible through a Workforce Innovation Grant Program from the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development (DWD). As a subrecipient of a grant to MobiliSE through the Workforce Innovation Grant Program, Menomonee Valley Partners was able to leverage relationships and coalitions while working to implement long-term, sustainable workforce development solutions.
