When Milwaukee was the Machine Shop of the World, the Menomonee River Valley was its engine.
See the Valley’s rich collection of historic industrial buildings, some of which have been renovated or repurposed for locally owned businesses showcasing furniture, lighting, decorative stone, antiques, and more, on a tour of the St. Paul Avenue Design District, Participants will stroll through the street’s history, visit businesses, and hear how St. Paul Avenue has transformed over the last 100 years.
The tour, held in conjunction with Doors Open, a two-day public celebration of Milwaukee’s art, architecture, culture, and history, is a one-way, seven-block walk using city sidewalks starting at Brass Light Gallery (1101 St. Paul Ave.) and ending at Riverview Antique Market (2045 St. Paul Ave.). Street parking is available.
