Green Infrastructure_2021.jpg

The Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District (MMSD), the City of Milwaukee, and the Wisconsin Department of Transportation collaborated on a green infrastructure project, with added community amenities, under I-794. This 16 acre site has the capacity to capture 293,000 gallons of stormwater runoff from the interstate that will ultimately protect water quality of the Menomonee River and Lake Michigan. It also adds connections and walking paths from the Valley to the street grid to the north.

This event is part of 2021 Valley Week, presented by Potawatomi Hotel & Casino. Valley Week is an annual event that invites you to explore and experience Milwaukee's Menomonee River Valley!
